Tom’s Idea-List
“Tom’s Idea-List” is a business concept based on a collection of innovative ideas.
Each idea is a unique and original entity described as an intellectual property – Inventions, Business concepts, Software apps, Websites, Games, and Books. Intellectual property can become extremely valuable and it can be protected by patents, copyrights and as business trade secrets.
Each is considered as a unique product; and the product will form the basis and focal point for a Product Development Project. Then, we solicit interested and qualified individuals, who can relate to and see potential in one of the Ideas, and who will agree to become a member of the Idea’s Project Development Team.
Each team member is expected to be a contributor to and a proponent of the team’s product, its base Idea.
Note: Generally, no literature, patent or other type of searches have been done to determine the originality of any of the ideas. Accordingly, no claim is made that any particular Idea could be patented or copyrighted or legally protected in any way.
The incentive for an individual (or a business) to join a team and make contributions to the product development, primarily through intellectual effort, is to earn an ownership interest in the product.
This structure is reminiscent of the popular “open source”
concept, meaning “any system of innovation or production that relies on goal-oriented yet loosely coordinated
participants who interact to create a product or service of economic value”.
However, our products are not intended to be offered as “free”. Instead, the objective of each Project Development Team is to develop their product – or service, or process, or business entity… – such that its value can be demonstrated, marketed or sold. Then, each team member will receive a share of the profits.
This approach, known as the “Open-design movement”, includes the famous open-source software – but also the development of physical products, machines and systems via publicly shared design information. Software developers, say those on SourceForge.net, create powerful software with over 502,000 open-source projects; they host over 2.1 million registered users.
